Spring and Summer 2008 Fashion
We are constantly gathering fashion updates and advice. Here are the latest updates for you:
Colors
Brights - not quite neon, brighter than pastel. Think sherbet colors - tangerine, fuchsia,
azalea, yellow, rose. Purple is still very hot, especially lavender for spring. Pastels are
still popular though - you'll especially see lemon and pale pink.
We have our new ladies' plaid board shorts in both of those great colors.
Grey/silver is an important neutral, mixed
with the new brighter sherbet colors. We have a new ladies' board short with a khaki background,
but they bring in that zip of beautiful color with a solid and plaid stripe. Check them out:

Fabrics
Here are some spring trends in fabrics: safari, sheer, floral, 60's psychedelic and tie-dye,
tribal. Floral prints are very popular. We have one of the beautiful bright, floral prints
in our new floral swim top. We've picked up on both
the floral trend, and the tie-dye/painted look with a cool
screen-printed flower board short for ladies.
Denim
Denim is very popular. The color is getting lighter again, more washed out. It looks beautiful
with the yummy sherbet colors, or a nice white shirt. Our new denim roll cuff capris
come in light, medium, or dark wash. For your jeans, you'll see both wide leg and skinny.
Wear whatever jean looks good on you - the focus this season is on the top and your waist -
see belts below.
Shorts, Pants
Cuffed cropped pants are popular.
The new shorts are short (above mid-thigh) and often cuffed.
Those of us who like our shorts longer are interpreting that trend with a cuffed capri rolled
up just above, at, or below the knee. Our new denim roll cuff capris
are just what many are looking for.
Lots of items are higher waisted now for women. You'll see very high waist styles on the models,
but most women will interpret that trend as wearing their shorts and pants at the
natural waistline.
Safari-inspired shorts are also still in. You may find some Bermuda length still in the stores,
but many may be shorter than you like. We'll always carry knee-length neutral color cotton
shorts that go with all your spring and summer looks.

Swim
Manufacturers are finally figuring out that women don't like to bare everything when
they're hanging out at the beach or pool. Little skirts and shorts will be popular
to put on over your swimsuit. Our new selection of great board shorts just arrived, and they
are very popular to put on over a swimsuit if that's what you want.
Guys - you won't be left out - we have new board shorts for you too. For swim, instead of
having to layer a bikini bottom with a short or skirt over it, we have a
one piece swim bottom.
It's a cute cargo swim short, with a built-in swim panty. To go with them, we offer a
great racerback swim top. It's cut in a longer length
to be more flattering, and the racerback means your straps won't fall off. Our new
floral swim top just arrived.
Belts
The most important thing to remember - accent your waist this season. Layering is still popular,
but put a skinny belt on top. Thinner brown leather belts are especially in. You'll often see
them worn long, looped, twisted, or knotted.
Shirts
To interpret the current menswear look, layer a v-neck over a button down blouse.
Leave the blouse untucked, and add a belt.
You can also layer a v-neck over a scoop neck top, also belted at the waist.
Sheer tops are said to be a "must" which means you'll still need lots of camis to wear underneath.

You'll see lots of collared blouses for the menswear look. But feminine looks are also popular.
A great look will be denim shorts, capris, or jeans worn with the new sheer, flounced, feminine blouses. Especially
a white blouse.
Skirts
Skirts shown now are usually knee-length, or just below. They come up to the waist, and are especially
nice with a pretty blouse tucked in, with a nice belt. For those of us who like to camouflage
our hips, wear a longer top over the skirt, then belt. Or still wear the blouse tucked in
with a belt, but add a jacket on top.
Shoes
Gladiator sandals are the hot shoe in fashion. Some of them just aren't practical for most of us.
But we have seen cute sandals with a subtle gladiator look with straps across the top of the foot.
For every day casual wear, you still can't beat flip-flops and ballet flats. And they'll still be
in style. To update the look, you'll see flats with a moccasin-like detailing on the top front.
